Thinking about seeing a private counsellor or psychotherapist?
We are aware that there is some way to go before all rare disease patients can access individual or couple counselling provided by their charity or hospital service. Experience shows that rare disease patients and family members often find it helpful talking to healthcare professionals who already have an understanding of the impact of their rare condition, emotionally, practically and physically.
Therefore, some of our team offer private therapy online nationally and internationally, and we also work with a wide network of therapists known to us professionally. We can offer individual and couples counselling. All our private therapists are registered with either the BACP, UKCP or CORST.
All our counsellors offer therapy online and we are also able to offer in-person therapy in: London, Cambridge and St Albans (Hertfordshire)
In accessing one of our counsellors privately, 10% of the agreed appointment fee will return to supporting the work of Rareminds and help others access our resources.

We are aware that working in both healthcare and as a patient leader can at times be stressful and demanding. Everyday life and relationship difficulties can also be a further strain, which is to say nothing of the extraordinary events and impact of the 2020 pandemic.
Our Clinical Directors are experienced in offering confidential individual and couples counselling to senior leaders and healthcare professionals.
